FEATURES

The name 'Malvasia Nera' is often used to refer to a black grape variety belonging to the family whose name 'Malvasia' derives from a contracted variation of Monembasia, a Byzantine stronghold perched on the rocks of a promontory south of the Peloponnese, where sweet wines were produced that were later exported throughout Europe by the Venetians under the name of Monemvasia.
