PLANT

A very rare and hard-to-find plant. Cola Plant is a perennial, herbaceous shrub.
The sprout tips have the aroma and taste of 'Cola' and therefore Cola Plant is very popular with children. It grows up to 1.5 metres high and about 60 cm wide.

CULTIVATION

Cola comes mainly from the south, so it is recommended to plant it in full sun with dry soil. The plant is cold-hardy and therefore perennial. More than in height it grows in width, so it should be planted at a distance of 40/50 cm from each other.

COLLECTION

The young shoots, fresh or dried, are harvested throughout the year, with the peak of harvesting occurring in mid-summer when the plant is in full vegetation.

USES IN THE KITCHEN

The new sprouts are very suitable for seasoning meats and accompanying sauces, and add freshness to a salad. They are also suitable for making fruit punches or slushies, such as cola slushies, or simply a cool drink of coca cola.
The plant is also used as an anti-mosquito plant, as its intense aroma keeps mosquitoes away.
