PLANT
Bhut Jolokia, (Serpent Chilli, in Assamese) also known as Bih Jolokia (Poisonous Chilli) or Naga Jolokia (King Cobra Chilli) or even as Ghost Chili, is a cultivar of chilli, probably a hybrid between Capsicum chinense and Capsicum frutescens.
In 2007, the Guinness World Records certified the ghost pepper as the hottest chilli pepper in the world, 401.5 times hotter than classic Tabasco.
In 2012, however, it was surpassed in spiciness by the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and on 26 December 2013 by the Carolina Reaper, which is currently considered the hottest cultivar in the world.
CULTIVATION
When cultivating hot peppers, it should be borne in mind that they prefer a hot and humid climate, similar to a tropical climate. Water as needed.
COLLECTION
Once it has reached maturity, it is detached from the plant throughout the summer.
USES IN THE KITCHEN
In the kitchen, it is recommended with braised meats and game.
