PLANT
The Scotch Bonnet, also known as the bonney pepper or Caribbean red pepper, is a variety of pepper named after its resemblance to a hat. It is mainly found in the Caribbean islands; it is also found in Guyana (where it is called the fireball pepper), the Maldives (where it is called githeyo mirus), Panama (where it is called aji chombo) and West Africa.
Fresh, ripe Scotch Bonnet peppers can turn from green to yellow to scarlet red; however, other varieties of this pepper can ripen to orange, yellow, peach or even chocolate brown.
The degree of spiciness that these fruits can reach ranges from 100,000-350,000 Scoville degrees, very intense, suitable for those who like spicy foods.h3>
