PLANT

The Vineyard Peach Tree ( prunus persica ) is a fruit native to China. It grows well in areas with a temperate climate, requires hot summers to produce perfectly ripe fruit, but like all fruits needs cold winters for greater flowering. It does not like late frosts because flowering occurs in March. It does not prefer clay soils, but fresh and deep ones.

is an ancient variety of Umbrian origin.

The name derives from the vine-like cultivation (in rows). Very rustic tree, generally not very vigorous with an irregular growth habit, excellent production.

FRUIT

The medium-sized fruit is wine-red in colour, the flesh red, juicy, fragrant and liquescent. Excellent for fresh, cooked and dried consumption. Resistant to diseases.

CULTIVATION

Grow in full sun, matures in mid-September.
