The Pachira Aquatica, also known as the 'Money Tree', is a tree that grows in the swamps of Central and South America. It can grow up to 10 metres in the wild. It is a very hardy plant, so it can grow in many different conditions, but the right amount of water, nutrition and light will help it grow at its best.

CULTIVATION

The Pachira Aquatica loves moisture, but not where water stagnates. Therefore, keeping it in a planter with good drainage is essential.
Place it in indirect light indoors, rotating it every time you water it so that it grows evenly.
Make sure you water consistently, ideally 1-2 times a week depending on the humidity. Water the whole potting soil, only until water starts to run out of the drainage holes.
For optimum longevity, lightly fertilise Pachira aquatica 3-4 times a year with a water-soluble fertiliser.
