PLANT

• • Unique foliage: The leaves have distinctly serrated edges that resemble the teeth of a saw.
  • Vibrant colours: The variegation is extremely unpredictable and can include shades ranging from dark green to cream, yellow, bright orange and even fiery red hues on new leaves.

  • Growth: It has a predominantly upright and compact growth habit (the “self-heading” type) rather than a climbing one, developing a rosette of leaves around a short central stem.

• • Light: Requires plenty of indirect and bright light. Insufficient light will cause the variegation to fade, whilst direct summer sun can scorch the pale leaves.
  • Water: Water only when the top 5–7 centimetres of soil have dried out completely. It is very sensitive to waterlogging, which can cause root rot.
  • Soil: Use a highly well-draining and porous mix, specifically designed for aroids, consisting of a base potting compost enriched with perlite, pine bark and coconut fibre.
  • Temperature and Humidity: It thrives best at temperatures between 18°C and 27°C. As it is a tropical plant, it prefers medium to high levels of humidity (above 50–60%).
