PLANT

Pilea Peperomioides, more commonly known as the Chinese coin plant, or mirror grass, is a species of flowering plant in the Urticaceae family, native to the provinces of Yunnan and Sichuan in southern China.
It is an erect, evergreen perennial plant with round, dark green, peltate leaves. The stem axis is greenish to dark brown, usually simple, often straight erect, slightly lignified at the base. The plants are completely glabrous. Surprising are their large, round, glossy leaves, which can be over 15 centimetres in diameter.

CULTIVATION

With a minimum temperature of 10 °C, Pilea peperomioides is cultivated as a house plant in temperate regions. Despite its attractive shape, easy maintenance and rapid growth, the plant is rarely found on the market.
