FEATURES

Bronner is a grape variety obtained in Germany, in 1975, also at the Freiburg Research Institute with a parental pathway partly similar to the previous hybrid (Solaris). It is a Merzling x Geisenheim 6494 cross, where the latter hybrid differs from the previous Gm 6493 in the final contribution of V. vinifera, which, in this case, is Saint Laurent, whereas in Solaris it is Muskat Ottonel. The Bronner vine belongs to a family of vines that are resistant to fungal diseases. These white grape varieties are leading, through careful clonal selection, to good oenological results, comparable to those obtained with 'European' vines. The excellent disease resistance of Bronner makes it possible to minimise the number of interventions necessary to combat infections in the vineyard.

GRAPPOLO

rather marked, medium, compact, cylindrical, sparse.
Average bunch weight: 200 to 250 g.

ACINO

spherical, medium/small yellow/greenish, pruinose skin of medium consistency.

Sprouting: 1st ten days of April
Flowering: 3rd decade of May
Ripening: 3rd decade of August

OENOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

A potentially very generous grape variety, it requires, in order to obtain high quality wines, to contain its productivity.
Bronner can produce fruity wines with hints of honey, lemon, exotic fruits and a pleasant mineral note. These wines are characterised by a complex structure as well as a lively acidic note on the finish. Long persistence on the palate.
